In less than 48 hours, this video has 14.2 million views and 73,000 likes, with thousands of commenters claiming that it is indisputable proof that the Jake Paul Vs Mike Tyson fight was rigged to prevent either man doing any serious damage to the other. Very interesting. As you can see, Tyson had Jake Paul’s jaw in his crosshairs but decided to drop his fist at the last second before making contact. If the training videos Tyson put out months ago are any indication, Paul would have been completely out cold if that made contact. Instead, Tyson appears to pull the punch at the last moment. Why?
There’s loads more examples and conspiracies doing the rounds about this fight and I’m sure there’s plenty more to come, but of course we’re no experts and can’t definitively say that the fight was rigged, even with all the ‘evidence’ coming out. For example, with this clip, it could be that the camera angle is deceiving and that Tyson is actually further away from Paul than what he appears to be. Maybe he backed off to not expose himself to the faster fighter with the longer reach? I mean, I think it’s pretty obvious anyway that Tyson was struggling in there with a knee issue that limited his mobility and messed with his balance somewhat.
Either way, a 58-year-old Mike Tyson got paid enough money to set himself up for the rest of his life and Jake Paul got to play it safe in yet another gimmick fight. So I guess it wasn’t a ‘real fight’ no matter what way you look at it…
